Color Red - take II

Here is another set of photoes I took with the red pants. Used my purple pump to make an analogic color scheme. A simple white shirt with leopard print scarf balanced the whole look. Hope you like it and have a great weekend!

Color Spectrum - Red

This season is all about colors. I have read many fellow blogers posting about color theory. As from this color practice, I learned different color schemes with inspiring examples from our favorite brand J crew.  And these creative ladies littlebellring and Finding Waveland, who are so good at color blocking. I'm amazed and inspired by every one of their posts. So I decide to start a color series play with the whole spectrum. As a person who's used to blacks and greys, Am I brave? OK, here comes the first one, Red. If you want to find a pair of color pants, Zara is the place to go. I believe this color combo belongs to complementary scheme, even the color of the top is olive. Let's start a colorful season.

Yellow Jasmine Inspiration

Every year yellow jasmine is always one of the earliest flowers blooming after the cold winter to announce the arrival of new spring season. Even when the weather is still cold, rainy or even snowy at the early spring time of New England. Inspired by the tough beauty, I put together this simple look. Most of them are randomly taken from my closet. Too simple to even involve any thinking process. Just let the color make the statement.
Happy Spring!

The Fresh Orange

Since my trip back from China, I found the orange color pops everywhere for the spring looks.Orange has been such a fresh and pretty color to me since I was a little girl. I remember when I once did a dance performance, we had a chance to choose different color head bands. Most girls like light blue, red, I chose orange! Not sure if it went well with my costume, the color was just so attractive to me!

So i found this top from Loft. Even among many of the bold color pattern pieces, it's still so eye catching! I love everything about it, the silk soft material, the color, the decoration of the neckline and shoulder. Just so perfect for many styles.

Have you found your orange yet?

A Fabulous Saturday

Maybe it was because of the first sunny warm day here to me since the winter, plus it's the time usually I go visited my daughter. I just felt so joyful and exciting. We did her laundry together, had lunch, chatted about her school life, friends, discussed the course selection for next school year and took a walk for some grocery shopping near the school.
I seemed still not enjoyed enough the fabulous weather so drove to Boston on the way back home.

The gorgeous Magnolia tree starts to bloom

There's an old Chinese poem say the ducks are the first to know when the water is warming up in spring. Guess ducks never lost this talent from their ancestors.

What was I thinking? Must be something pleasant in such beautiful place! Like shopping on Newbury St?

Still thinking?

So there I went. Shopped Ann Taylor, and window shopped Valentino.

Do I look a little blur? Not sure who my photographer was looking at...

Can't remember how many times I took pictures with the red brick building. They always remind me of my childhood since I grew up in red brick building too. Even though, it was totally a different style.

Have a pleasant weekend!

I Smell Spring

I have been reading nutrition and medical books rather than fashion magazine for quite a while,  since I heard my dear sister got ill.  Finally finally the spirng feeling over the weekend released and cheered up me so much. The warm peach color I recently found from Loft is just perfect for the early spring. Wish everyone a beautiful healthy new season!

My first of Twenty Eleven

Happy VERY belated New Year! Too many to share after the long break. So I'll just start with a few items I was excited to find over the holiday time.

Many of you probably recognize this J Crew Colletta coat from Jean's review @ Extra Petite. I had wonderful experiences with JCrew coats and most of my winter coats are from J crew. The standing collar and shirred waistband make this coat a very feminine, flattering yet classic look. Plus with the 40% off $169.99 sale price, how could I pass it? The one I have is sz 00. ( I'm a little above 5'4''). It's a shorter cut compare to the lady day coat. I agree with Jean that petites should go with regular size if you prefer a longer coat.

Our local restaurant is still full of holiday atmosphere. I bravely opened the button in the freezing wind even though I haven't completely recovered from a bad cold, just try to show off the skirt from Zara.

A close look at the hem, with the lovely fringe.

Last but not the least, I looooooooove these suede boots from Loft. They are so warm and comfy. This is what I have concluded after several whole day walking experiences. Also the important thing is, the smaller calf size! However, feels like Loft shoe size runs a little bigger from the couple of pairs I have.

Another look of the skirt. I visit our local McDonald's a lot for a quick meal. So bear with me here if you live a healthy diet routine. But I do think you still could eat healthy even at McDonald's. :)

Should I tie my hair up for a change in the new year?
Thanks for reading.

XOXO,
Sahara
