Summer Work Outfit - AnnTaylor Ruffle Sheath Dress

Inspired by ExtraPetite work outfit posting, I want to share a few more style I usually  have at work.
Noticed this dress from Alterations Needed 's AnnTaylor Petite review . I like the cut of the scoop neck  and the ruffle at the bust area, flattering enough but not overwhelmed. When I see this turquoise green color at the store, I knew I just couldn't let it go. :) Well, For dress I usually have to go with regular size. But store never carry sz00 (why is that? ) so this is sz 0. A little baggy at  top, a totally different outcome of Ann Taylor's web picture. But a belt always helps and it seems to fit better at our casual and easy work place.
A hot weekend is in front of us again, Stay cool and enjoy!

  1. A lot of ladies seem to be interested in this dress, but I find that it's one of those items that don't look like it's the best quality. on the model it looks fantastic, but in every photo I've seen it on a "real person" (you, AlterationsNeeded, and one of the work outfit entries #14) I think it looks very wrinkle-prone and not like it is worth what it retails for. Not one of my favorite items from Ann Taylor...but that is just my opinion!

  2. Hi Jean, I agree with you about the wrinkle part. I even thought about mentioning that in the post if I was not in a hurry at work this afternoon. The material is cotton/spandex. The wrinkles are probably due to: 1. I washed it and used dryer machine to try to let it shrink a little and didn't iron it nicely. 2. The picture was taken after sitting in the office for a whole day. It is definitely not a wrinkle resistant material like wool. But I like the comfortable feeling and the color! Yes, this probably the most costly one I bought this summer even with 30% off discount. Thanks for your comment.

  3. I like the color of this dress. It fits loose on you compared to the model, especially on the top. It looks better on you with the small cardi, I think. And I noticed the wrinkles too. That's why I take my pics in the morning. :)

  5. The dress fits way better on you than it did on me! I liked the green color better than the black too, but by the time I went to order, it was all sold out. Too bad about the wrinkles. I didn't spend too much time in the dress before taking it back to the store to really notice the wrinkle proneness of it.

  6. Vicky, I only wish I could be like you for one morning! :)
Angeline, Welcome to stop by and Thanks for your comments.
Alterations Needed, Thanks for providing so many valuable information from your review and guide. I still think the dress looks better than the picture. Lots of the wrinkles were from the dryer machine. I didn't iron the dress enough in the rush morning. But it's definitely not a wrinkle resistant one. A little better than linen I guess. I probably fit better than you. I still have lots of gaps at the top and waist area, that's why I used a belt, it helps a lot.
