Relaxed Saturday

Saturday morning was sunny and quiet. Before I went to see Chelsea's Dance performance at her school, I took a walk with this casual looking outfits at Boston Common, enjoyed the ease of a relaxed long weekend.

Do you see the beauty face with the big flower on my favorite graphic tee?  I found out I'm very into graphic tee this summer and Forever 21 usually is a good resource for me to find some very interesting one. Also, the stripy sandals is a good deal from the weekend clearance sale. I loooooooove it!

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Friday! The long Memorial Day weekend started with the fantastic sunny weather. Summer officially is here at the New England.

I had my Breton Stripes series but still want to show this strip shirt I got from Loft factory outlet a couple of weeks ago. It has been my favorite weekend gear. Not because the strips were trendy this spring, but it brought me lots of sweet memories. I used to work for a ship-building company and often on board worked among this kind of sailor shirts. My young and pretty days!! :)

Pair with white, Am I Sailor?

My go- with- anything shoes of the 2010 summer.

The fun and stylish design of the stripes. I love it!

Add a feminine touch of my flower bracelet.

Still thinking of the sweet old time?

Wish everyone a fun relaxed weekend.

Business Casual- My summer dress series 1

I like dress from my heart. It's pretty, elegant, as well fun and easy to go. As my friend Vicky mentioned in her blog, you don't have to think about what to wear and what to pair, it's there already, for you. Finally the precious summer time is here, I can't wait to show them off.

This dress I got from the Limited during last season's big sale . The price was twenty something. I like black and white , very easy to add with any color as you need. And the simple business casual style will never be out.

Casual style even with pocket

you also can add a belt to make it little formal

How could I forgot the beautiful gorgeous Rhododendron!

Big show off my flower bracelet! One of my favorite little things now.
I'm inspired by my friend Vicky and lots of fantastic fashion bloggers from Jessica's whatiwore, who blogs on the daily base. I'll also try to do as much as can. This is all I can promise now. :)

The Color of Summer

Rhododendron is such a popular plant that you almost can see it everywhere in New England. It's the beautiful representitive of summer of New England. Looking it year by year, I start to like the color.

At the weekend of a couple of weeks ago. Inspired by those flower beauties, I bought a matching color sweat shirt from GAP.

Washed several times by the rain, they still looked elegant. So I tried this lighter color (lavender?)

I was told sometimes we need some "special effect" for my photo to look more meaningful. You get it? Well, I don't. :) Enjoy the fantastic summer!

Sweet, and Rough?

Jessica from what I wore is hosting another style challenge: Sweet and Rough . Use one delicate romantic pieces mixed up with something edgy.
First thing pop up to my mind is this little dress from the Limited. However, to me, it's not even a candidate for romantic piece. ( That would be something white, purple, lavender? :) ) But,  I just like it, like it, like it! So I'll see how far I could go with it.

Going to work, Sweet?

 After work, Having fun!

Party? Party!

 Sweet, still not Rough!
Well, I usually don't collect something rough looking. So rushed to target after work, and found this studded belt, black chain necklace and drove to home to catch the last piece of sunshine.

Flowers and the Floral weekend

Summer finally is here at the New England. We have enjoyed the right sunshine for a few days. The red, white, pink, yellow blossoms are everywhere. Such a wonderful world!

Most of my outfits are in black, gray, navy blue. Today, inspired by the beautiful nature, I try on this floral pattern.

Ordinary Working Wednesday

It's Wednesday, an ordinary working day, and it was rainy and cold. Didn't want to get down by the weather in morning, so first thing into my eye was this yellow shirt. I did need something to lighten my eye and cheer me up! To add some fun, I even put on the little scarf from my good friend. It so worked out. Smile was back on my face. yeah, tomorrow is going to be in 80s and start to count down for the weekend! Put on my little jacket, classical but not so boring, off I went.

The pictures were taken after I came back from work. It was already getting dark due to the rain. But I still like to show my normal work outfit for an ordinary work day. And I still has my smile after a long day. Color sometimes does help!

Artificial Arts

I think I'm always a fan of original natural style looking. That's why I enjoy very much  looking at the street style pictures. They are real, they are natural, they are beautiful!

But every time I went to China visit my friends and saw the stunning  pictures they took at the studios, I always admired so much. Who doesn't want to look pretty? Then, I went to one, and enjoyed so much to be treated like princess or celebrity something, with a group of people surrounding you to do your hair, put on the make up, choose the costume, the necklace, earring, the shoes.... for sometime almost a day.  But after, when I look at those album, I always have the same question as Chelsea: Is that you? Then those pictures were just left at the bottom of my drawer and I always told myself, I wouldn't do it again.
This year, when I saw my best friend's new album and listened to what she told me, time is flying...., So again, I stopped by one studio when we were in a shopping center. And as usual, I left with a contact for next day photo shooting.  :) (With all the handsome and pretty sales people they have, I doubt there was one could leave without a contract!)
So after more than one month pre&post process, My friend brought me home this:

Maybe it's just I didn't find any real good one? I hope they look still like me.:)

Breton Stripes Inspiration II

It's a sunny day again. The beautiful green lawn makes me think about another popular element of this year: military style. So I dig out my olive green shorts form many years ago and added a gentle flower print from my favorite silk scarf.

Inspired by some of the posts on what I wore, I found out stripes could be such an essential element that could go with almost everything. So here is my try out.  Hope you like it too. :)

Breton Stripes Inspiration

I have stripes for many years. (Who doesn't? :)) It's easy to wear and very casual. Somehow they are fading away from my attention. But this year seems the Odie comes back with a fresh look and becomes interesting again. As it posed on WHOWHATWEAR.

Then I was very much inspired by the "Breton Stripes Tuesday" posts on What I wore by Jessica Schroeder. It was very interesting to see how it could be so different and versatile on those 52 talented ladies including my good friend Vicky. I couldn't wait to try my version, but I always got home in dark on the following days. This morning I finally could start under the bright sunshine then I got the phone call  from my dear Cheslea and rushed out to buy the leotard for her dance class rehearsal and sent to her school. When I got home, it was dark again. :) This is a work mother's life. But I enjoy it.

With the help from the little colorful accessories, it made the look fresh and fun but not so plain. Today I like to go with color red.

Mother's day and spicy mothers

Yesterday was mother's day, a little windy but very sunny and bright, like every mother's smile. When I heard my daughter's greeting on the phone: "Wish you a happy mother's day", I had mine too. A big one. :)

Let's look at a few very famous and spice mom:

I like Jessica Alba. After being a mom, the sweet girl looks more confident, sexy and beautiful.

The big fashion idol who always dresses up to the nine on every detail. Somehow I like this one, shows a gentle, casual side of her.

The new mother. Hard to believe she just had baby a few months ago. No wonder she is the No. one! I like this outfit, skinny jeans with flower prints casual shirt and a pair of flat boots, so simple and stylish.

Today feels like almost back to the winter, after a week of summer weather. This is the nature of New England spring. But as a sweater fan, I enjoy still have time to show spring outfit.
